I hope you all were tuned into BET last night to watch the original airing of RIP THE RUNWAY 2011: Rhythm of Fashion. The annual Rip The Runway extravaganza fashion special was hosted by Selena Ebanks and also saw performances from the industry’s top crop of new stars such as Keri Hilson, Melanie Fiona, Miguel, Lloyd and Wiz Khalifa. It seems like EVERYONE was there. Lola Monroe, Fabulous and Lady Gaga were some of the celebrities that were in attendance!!

These artists weren't the only big things in the show. Style Elite booked five models to rip the runway. Major Shout out to Iris Walker, Khia Godfrey, Mekeda, Marcelo Torreo and Jamairais Malone for their hard work and participation in the show!

If you missed the airing yesterday, dont worry it will re-air this weekend!!!!!!!

Wheww! Over the last week here at Style Elite we have been soooo busy booking models and talent to do some of the hottest shows and magazine shoots out! Let us give you a rundown on all of the things we have been getting acomplished!!

We first want to give a shoutout to the gorgeous and talented, Meka, for her spread in Gorgeous magazine!!! Style Elite helped Meka, not only get a photo shoot but also a two page spread!!! The publisher of Gorgeous Magazine, Mike Logan, was so impressed by Meka's professionalism and talent that he said " Meka is up next, She's the next big star". Keep your eye out for Meka!!!!!!

We also want to give a big " Job Well done" to the Style Elite models who walked the runway during DC fashion week 2011!! This year Style Elite casted a number of models to be part of this eventful week. DC Fashion week is the district's biggest who is who in the fashion industry, which Style Elite is happy to be part of each year! This past weekend ( Feb. 26) Style Elite Modeling and Talent Agency CEO, Michelle V, and female actress/model, Lola Monroe, hit the big apple to cheer on our 6 models that participated in this star studded event. Keri Hilson, Wiz Khalifa, Fabulous, the New Boyz, Melanie Fiona and Miguel all performed at the 7th annual commemoration of music and fashion. The show was hosted by Victoria Secret mnodel, Selena Ebanks.It was a great even to be at and we are even more excited and proud of our models that walked the show, illustrating how truly talented and amazing our models at Style Elite Talent Agency are. Style Elite talent Agency Feeds the Homeless

This past Labor Day Style Elite and Mike and Michelle Booking Agency took time to feed the homeless, at the Calvary Women's Homeless Shelter in DC. Mike and Michelle Booking Agency were able to provide a celebrity appearance by Lola Monroe. At the shelter Style Elite, Lola, and others helped cook, serve, and enjoy meals with the shelter attendees.

Enchanting Women was another organization that attended the Soup Kitchen Event at Calvary Women's Homeless Shelter. With the ultimate promotion of women empowerment Enchanting Women's mission is to "encourage women from around the world with no regards of age or ethnicity's to be empowered with knowledge". For more information on Enchanting Women visit:Our hopes at Style Elite is that our services carried out on this past Labor Day have positively impacted the lives of the women at the Calvary Homeless Shelter. Nonetheless this was a rewarding experience for the agency, don't forget to take time out of your schedule to help out your community!

The Gbomai Bestman Foundation Fashion Show !!

The Gbomai Bestman Foundation is a non-profit organization that dedicates their time to promote and better the health and well being of mothers and children in West Africa, Liberia. Their ultimate goal is to reduce the rate of maternal and child mortality through procedures like pre and post natal care, nutrition, and family healthcare and planning.

Actions currently taking place to improve the well being of mothers and children in West African rural areas are; assisting expecting mothers and young children. This allows the mothers to undergo a safe and successful pregnancy, and the children to see a day past the age of 5 years.

Style Elite and Mike and Michelle Booking Agency have taken the time to assist the Gbomai Bestman Foundation in raising money and awareness through Fashion! Mike and Michelle Booking were able to provide a celebrity appearance by Lola Monroe, while Style Elite Modeling and Talent Agency put on a runway show with the help of their model veteran, Desire Venn, which took place at the Rockville Manor in Montgomery Maryland on August 21st 2010. At the show Style Elite's very own model and TV personality, Comfort, interviewed the foundation, models, Style Elite, and other charities while others graced the runway. The models rocking the runway included Marvina, Kamilah, Nina, Shanasia, Lynn Ma, Nikki, Abigail, Jamairais, and Janice.

. Don't over accessorize, overly dress, or wear excessive amounts of makeup.

Agencies and casting directors want to see what you look like, a natural face is best.

. Do wear clothing that shows your figure.
Leggings and a T-shirt are perfect for any casting.

. Don't have excessive amounts of tattoos or piercings.
Unless the casting is directed towards this, take the piercings out, and cover tattoos up.

. Do research the location of the casting.
Never call to ask for directions. Once you learn the address, it is your responsibility to know the directions.

. Don't show up to a casting without doing research.
Having general knowledge of the agency or casting will help your interview.

. Don't let your nerves or fear show during a casting.
Everyone gets nervous, but it is important to never allow your nerves to show in a casting.

. Do always be yourself.
Always be yourself, being yourself will help you get that principal role in the next big video, or acting role in the next movie.

. Do always be honest.
Never pretend to have more experience than you do.

. Don't talk about other things outside of your career.
Time is of essence, never talk about personal issues in a casting. Don't miss your opportunity talking about other things.

. Do always have your portfolio prepared.
Only have your best photos, and never exceed more than 15. If you only have 5 great photos, then your portfolio should only consist of those 5 photos.

. Do be open to workshops.
Always work on ways to better your technique.

. Do study and know your competition.
Always know who you will be working with, and have knowledge of their careers. Be different and Be better.

. Don't worry about what your competition has achieved.
Always focus on YOU!!! Worrying about another landing the role you wanted will prevent you from succeeding in the future.

. Don't bring anyone with you to a casting.
Never bring someone with you to a casting, it's unprofessional.

. Do remember that all models are your competition.
If you refer a friend to an agency, or recommend a casting, remember that you are now competing for the same jobs.

While the environment at Style Entertainment is casual and welcoming after reading the mission statement there is another thing to be said about the environment at Style Entertainment it is serious business. Mike Styles, CEO of Styles Entertainment is clearly in the business of making models. Anyone who has their eye on the urban model scene and has watched the swift assent of Angel Lola Luv knows that the serious business of Styles Entertainment has been a successful endeavor thus far.

When you look at any company in any industry its public perception, successes and failures all begin with the individual at the helm. At the helm of Styles Entertainment is the Chief Executive Officer Mike Styles. Before Mike Styles embarked on the journey of owning his own modeling agency he began his career as a photographer. “I started as a photographer. I would do a lot of photography with models and actors and I would help them build their portfolios” said Styles. Styles the photographer’s worked was featured in various regional and national publications including but not limited to Streetz magazine and Black Men’s Magazine.

After Styles’ photography helped various models and actors attain bookings and he got several inquires from models he worked with Mike Styles transitioned in his role from photographer into talent manager and agency owner. “After getting a couple of models booked I just started working with that small group of models and I got them booked over and over and over again then I just built it from there” said Styles.

Styles has not built Styles Entertainment into a force all alone. While the cliché is that behind every strong man is a strong woman Styles manages to spurn tradition and not have his strong woman standing beside him instead of behind him. Michelle V decided to leave her job as an accountant at the end of 2005 to help Styles relaunch the agency. V has been instrumental principal in helping build Angel Lola Luv’s career. V has also helped Angel Lola Luv transition from urban model and video vixen into a burgeoning rap recording artist.

Styles has managed to expand the capabilities of his agency. He has grown and evolved from just a model and talent management agency to a full service agency that is capable of servicing any type of model or actor due to the experienced personnel that is housed in each of the talent specific divisions. Some of the divisions include: Styles Entertainment Model and Talent Agency, Style Elite Model and Talent Agency which was created by Michelle V for models and actors. Style Elite is able to service commercial models, fashion models, glamour models, babies/teens/young adults, plus size and runway models. Divisions that cater specifically to actors include voice division, reality television, fitness division and a major division that focuses primarily on celebrities.

This celebration of "urban music artists at the top of their game" will take place October 17 in Atlanta with a debut broadcast scheduled for October 17 at 8pm ET/PT. Lauren's photoshoot call time was this past Sunday May 3rd in NYC at 8am. Style Elite Agent Mike Styles and Lauren Asia traveled to NYC to be on set for her shoot. The shoot was shot in an exclusive location in Mahattan with a Celebrity Photographer, Wardrobe-Stylist, Make-up, Hair-Stylist, Production crew, set staff and much more... JASMINE landed an acting part in the ONE BLOOD MOVIE. She demonstrated dedication to her craft by going to NYC at the last minute. Jasmine ventured to the big apple alone without being familiar with the city after being told she won a role in the movie. She immediately changed her plans to accommodate the needs of the film.

The movie director, Jesses, loved her in the scene. This is Jasmine's first acting role in a movie. She received a lot of support and encouragement from the Style Elite Team. This gave Jasmine the added boost to do a bang up job on the set. Jasmine was featured in the movie with Cliffton Powell and other major actors.

Style Elite went with a new color scheme. Our old space was decorated with green and orange tones throughout the office. The new office is 1100 square feet of space decorated using Gray, Brown, Silver, White and Black with solid dark wood floors at the front desk and seating area. The receptionist area, office meeting space, make-up section, dressing area, kitchenette, and photography studio were decorated using warm tones to give our new digs that cozy feeling. It has a different appeal than the last Style Elite office.

Check out Cristal and Tanisha as principals in a new music video featuring Tabbi Bonney. They where amazing to watch on set. Cristal rocked a HIGH FASHION white suit look with an AFRO in one scene and set the place on fire with her dancing scene that included a duet with another model. Tanisha killed them with her figure in front of the camera in one scene demonstrating her seductive moves and then smashing the next scene that included a silhouette figure. Good work ladies.

Nikaiya shoots for a NON PROFIT Company and Melts the peoples hearts

NIKAIYA wins the Style Elite Talented Kid of 2008. NIKAIYA is an amazing kid. She's very animated and can connect with the camera very well in any setting. Nikaiya was chosen by a Non Profit company to shoot their campaign for Children with Incarcerated Parents. NIKAIYA arrived on the set location in a beautiful Pink dress with a bow wrapped around her waist. She had a pretty doll in hand ready to shoot while her grandmother & mother looked on. She was a trooper as she stepped out of the mini-van to shoot on a treeless construction site that consisted of rocks, dust, gravel, abandoned cars, weeds and wired fences. The photo shoot scene was called "THIS IS MY PLAYGROUND". The purpose of the shoot was to show where less fortunate kids have to play. These children don't have safe parks nor do they have proper guidance or supervision from family. Their parents are in jail. NIKAIYA was told to look sad and down when shooting the scene. NIKAIYA went into character. She was so convincing that it took only one take to get the shot. She handled that job like a PRO. As soon as her "job" was over, she went back to her normal animated self. Good job NIKAIYA.

Today Creed Magazine interviewer / writer Luis visited the Style Entertainment / Style Elite Modeling & Talent Agency headquarters. He mentioned how he was excited about getting to do this particular interview out of all the other ones he had done recently this week. Luis started off by saying he liked Mike Styles & Michelle V's professionalism as business people. Luis said he chose directors Mike & Michelle to interview based on their knowledge and experience in the fashion business. Luis based his entire interview off showcasing the Agency as the go to place for models & actors. He utilized that time to use the Style Entertainment Agent / director's experience to give advise to the models & talents trying to pursue their careers. Overall, Luis from Creed Magazine left the Style Entertainment / Style Elite Modeling & Talent Agency headquarters very pleased with the advise and information he had gather from Mike Styles & Michelle V. He even mentioned he wanted to do a follow up story about the agency again as well as write a promotional piece for the agency to market the company.

LOLA started the show by letting the DC crowd know that she represents her city everywhere she goes no matter where she's at. The DC crowd cheered and danced for MS. Congratulations to little Ms. Madison for landing the video CURLY SKIT role with superstar 50 Cent.
Ms. Madison plays a little girl in a park on a swing. When she's approached by 50 Cent and told to get off the swing, little 5-year-old Madison tells big 50 Cent in the Curly Skit "NO".
50 Cent explains to Ms. Madison in the Curly Skit how she is "messing with his pimping".
Let's just say Little Madison holds her own against 50 Cent and calls for backup when she turns and yells for her mom. Madison's mom, Ms. Madina, also played a role in the skit that included little Madison and 50.

50 Cent had the skit set up to play on the controversial RICK ROSS CURLY ROLE. The director of the skit loved working with Madison and her mom. Madison's mom quickly responded to a phone call from Madison's Agent Mike Styles and got little Madison out of school in PA and drove to NYC to secure her daughter's role in the video that Style Elite Modeling & Talent Agency set up for her. GOOD JOB Ms. Madina. Madison has made our Child Model of the Month for March 2009.

In this particular shoot the model, Jennifer, was photographed for her Commercial Headshots.

All shots are considered in the building of each model's/actor's personal portfolio.

Photo shoots are done every Tuesday from 11AM until close of business. We urge all models/talent to be punctual when arriving for a shoot.

Style Elite Talent has recently teamed up with TA Productions Inc. to provide a DVD package that will be included in each model's portfolio.

D.C. Council member Harry Thomas Jr.'s Golf Tournament

Distinguished DC council member Harry Thomas Jr. held a Junior Golf tournament at the Langston Legacy Golf Course in Northeast DC.

Style Elite Modeling and Talent Agency was present to lend a helping hand. Our lovely promotional models Quiana(Foreground) and Lauren assisted with tournament events and interacted with the golf groups.

The Langston Legacy Golf Course(1939) was originally built as a segregated golf facility to provide the African American golfers with a course they can call their own. Currently they are going through some financial constraints. This Junior Golf tournament was held in an effort to help raise awareness and sponsorship for their plight. Style Elite Modeling and Talent Agency congratulates Mr. Thomas Jr. in holding a successful event. We are proud to be a part of this venture and look forward to supporting these events in the future.

Maggie Moo's in collaboration with Seezinz ("Flavor of Love 3" ) along with the assistance of Style Elite Talent Agency held a successful campaign to get residents of our nation's capitol to register to vote for the upcoming general election.
The day started off slowly, but things quickly picked up as the afternoon rolled on. The promotional team was able to persuade many passer-bys to register to vote. Way to go!
